Stories Reimagined

I started gaming in 1981, but my first real hook into fantasy was getting and reading the Endless Quest books by Rose Estes.  Many kids were just like me. Loved those books. So it was a labor of love when I tackled the project of converting those old books into adventures.  Well, not quite exactly, as serial numbers have been filed off, NPCs have been renamed, and things have been added to make it more of an adventure rather than a book. Countless hours were spent mapping each page and location.

I kept this project largely under wraps until I had the blessing of Rose Estes. I had the fortune of spending an afternoon with her. She is indeed a great storyteller! She was honored and impressed with the amount of work done to convert her story. However, unlike me, she kept track of everything in her head an handwritten on a legal pad! No charts or outlines for her, oh no! That's how impressive she is.

So with no further ado, here is a preview of the first conversion, my favorite of the books. I was also very lucky to have Brian "Glad" Thomas do the artwork, which is a terrific homage to the original artist, Jim Holloway.
